Dear World: It Isn’t Just Sales
đ Itâs Not Just Sales â Itâs Heart, Hustle, and a Whole Lot More
When you tell someone you work a direct sales (DS) business, they might assume it’s just about selling products. Cute nails, trendy skincare, fab jewelryâeasy, right? But those of us on the inside know better. Direct sales isnât just a gig or a hobbyâitâs a piece of us. A dream we dared to chase. A community we built one conversation, one event, one message at a time.
It’s waking up early to plan content when the house is still quiet. Itâs hopping on a live even when youâve had a rough day, because you know your tribe is counting on you. Itâs saying yes to a vision and then showing up every single day to breathe life into it.
So when a company suddenly shuts down or makes sweeping changes without warning, itâs not just businessâitâs personal. Itâs gut-wrenching.
Itâs not just losing a paycheck. Itâs losing something sacred. Something we’ve poured our hearts into. Weâve sacrificed weekends, said no to outings, learned new skills, gotten uncomfortableâand yes, shed tears when things got tough. We’ve fought to build something meaningful. Something that matters.
So if you ever come across someone whoâs just found out their DS company is closing its doors or making drastic changes, please donât brush it off. Donât say âOh well, on to the next.â Instead, offer them a little grace. A kind word. A coffee. A moment of acknowledgment that what theyâre going through is real, and valid, and painful.
Because what theyâre losing is so much more than a brand. They’re losing a part of their identity, their dreams, their communityâthe heart and soul of their business.
To all the warriors out there facing these transitions: I see you. I honor the sweat, the strength, and the sparkle you brought to your journey. This may be the end of a chapterâbut girl, your story is far from over. đŞâ¨
Keep building, keep dreaming, and never let anyone tell you it was âjust sales.â
