The Glow of Me-Time


Gratitude, Grow & Glow Series : Week 3

Tomorrow morning I get one of those rare alone moments — quiet house, warm coffee, the dogs and just me.

Being a wife, homeowner, a small business owner, and yes mama (even thought they have flown the nest) can be a little time consuming and attention grabbing. If the hubs isn’t wanting to start a new project around the house, one of the dogs (or a cat) are needing to go to the vet, or the groomers, or even the dog park if our yard is too wet. You know how it. is. if it’s not one thing it’s another demanding, no, insisting upon having your time and focus.

Needless to say, I am really looking forward to a nice, slow, quiet morning tomorrow. Mornings like this are the ones. that keep us grounded, that keep us semi-sane so we can give the attention, the answers (where are my socks?), make the appointments for everyone and all the other boss babe stuff we do.

As a society we as women are expected to kinda wear all the hats all the time and do it all correctly. And the pressure we put on ourselves to live up to all of it is even stronger. That’s why making sure you take me time is so important! Taking some time just for you!

I’ve already got my day for tomorrow planned. Wake up (yes still at the crack of dawn because some furry someones will need to go out and potty), but I’ll make and enjoy a quiet cup or two (call my honey), work on my website a bit, have a small bite, go to the gym (if its not snowing or raining), come home, have my daily smoothie, read for a bit, take a lay down with the fur babies, take a long bath and mask using my ABBI Exfoliating Cleanser (my face feels so good after), then play the rest of afternoon by ear. Personally I cannot wait!!

Yes I’ll probably work most of the afternoon, but it will be uninterrupted work.

As we head into the craziness of the holidays, don’t wait for me-time to magically appear.
Take it. Claim it. Protect it. Make it yours.
Those tiny breaks are what help you stay grounded, grateful… and glowing.
