If you had told me a year ago that I’d be taking a digital marketing course, rebuilding my website, learning about AI technology, and exploring new health and wellness resources, I probably would have laughed in your face. Rude yes but come on! After all, I’ve spent just about 30 years focused on raising a family, being a mom and wife and trying to building relationships, while running various small businesses in my own way. Going back to “school” wasn’t exactly on my bingo card.
And yet, here I am.
Some days I’m exciting. Some days I’m overwhelmed And some days I stare at a screen wondering why I signed up for any of it. I mean we ll know most days I should have my head examined but now I think I really should.
But let me tell you. The last couple of years I’ve learned something really important, growth rarely happens when we stay in our comfort zone.
Every skill, opportunity, and chapter starts with taking that step even thought it might not be the most comfortable thing.
The digital marketing program I’m taking has challenged me in ways I didn’t expect. I’ve learned about websites, AI, audience research, blogging, SEO, and content creation. Some concepts came easily. Others required a lot more coffee and patience. And more thinking.
One thing I have learned is that being curious , learning new things and stretching ( both literally and figuratively) doesn’t have an expiration date. There’s no magical age or date that hits us and we just stop these things.
So if you want to learn something new, learn it! if you want to start a new business do it! if you want to write a book, write it! Because there’s no expiration on our growing!
Get out there and follow your heart! Follow your dreams1 And no matter your age, build the life you want!
