There are some things in life we know are inevitable, but that doesn’t make them any easier.

Last week, we said goodbye to our sweet Yukon Cornelius.

No matter how many years we get with them, it’s never enough. They leave paw prints on our hearts, become part of our routines, and somehow make a house feel like home. Then one day, they’re gone, and the silence is overwhelming.

I’ve been reminded over the last few days that grief doesn’t follow a schedule. One minute I’m answering emails, working on my business, or making coffee…and the next I’m looking toward the spot where Yukon always was.

If you’ve ever loved a pet, you understand.

The hardest part isn’t knowing we’ll lose them someday. It’s learning how to keep going after they’re gone.

I’m grateful for every memory, every goofy moment, every walk, every cuddle, and every tail wag. I wouldn’t trade a single one, even knowing how hard this goodbye would be.

So if you’re missing a furry family member today, know you’re not alone.

They may leave our homes, but they never really leave our hearts. ❤️

Give your pets an extra hug from me today.

In loving memory of Juneau and Yukon Cornelius… He’s running with his sister again.
