The Secret to Getting a Truly Accurate Skin Analysis

If you’ve ever done a skin analysis and thought,
“Wait… that doesn’t seem right…”You’re not alone. (yeah even I’ve done this a time or two).

Our  skin analysis can be incredibly helpful—but only if it’s done in a way that gives accurate, consistent results. With a few simple guidelines you can insure an accurate scan every time.

1. Lighting matters more than you may think

Natural lighting is best—but it needs to be consistent.

Different lighting can:

  • create shadows
  • exaggerate texture
  • or make your skin look better (or worse) than it actually is

👉 Try to scan in relatively the same lighting each time.

2. Location matters

Where you do your scan matters just as much as lighting.

A bathroom one day, the den one day and a car the next?
👉 totally different results

Pick one spot and stick with it. You’ll notice all mine are done from the same corner of my couch.

3. Time of day makes a huge difference

Morning skin vs evening skin can look very different.

  • swelling
  • oil production
  • hydration levels

👉 Try to scan at the same time each time.

4. Clean skin = clear results

Make sure your skin is:

  • freshly cleansed
  • free of makeup
  • free of heavy products

This gives the most accurate reading.

5. Consistency = clarity

This is where everything comes together.

If your conditions change every time, so will your results. This doesn’t necessarily mean your skin is getting worse—it just means the scan isn’t being done under the same conditions.

A skin analysis is a tool—not a judgment. ( though it feels like it is sometimes).

When you use it consistently, it can help you actually understand what your skin needs and track real progress over time.

But when it’s done randomly?

It can feel confusing and frustrating.

Curious what your skin is actually trying to tell you?
A simple skin analysis can give you a clearer starting point. You can try it here.
